STF 3012 AB/3013 CD is a physical quadruple system located 247 light-years from the Sun. Very little information is available about the individual components. Both components AB and CD are expected to be stars of spectral class G0.
103mm: Despite the limited available information on this system, it is a very interesting and visually appealing double-double. Due to the similar albeit relatively low brightness of the individual components, this "small double-double in Pegasus" is an achievable target even for smaller telescopes. The individual components are easily distinguishable in a 103mm telescope at medium magnifications, but they are more striking at 200x. Unusually, the brightest component is C, which I observed as yellow, with its companion D appearing dark orange. Components A and B appeared yellow-white to me. The color contrast between components C and D was quite pronounced, despite their low brightnesses. Interestingly, I did not notice a similar color contrast in the observations of other observers.
