Lion Cub

< Another tiny constellation is located in Giraffe, just under 4 degrees southwest of the famous Kemble's Cascade. It is a diminutive version of the majestic Leo, although with dimensions of 2.4×1.4 degrees, it does not belong to small asterisms. The head is formed by an arc of stars with magnitudes ranging from six to eight, and a 6.8-magnitude star shines like Regulus, while Denebola has its counterpart in a 6.9-magnitude star. Unfortunately, the brightest star, with a magnitude of 5.7 on the back of the Little Lion, does not have a counterpart in its large model.

VIC: The well-known Sickle in the head of Leo is well imitated by eight stars, and the rest of the body is weaker, but with a certain amount of imagination, you can see the big Lion. In the summer of 2018, comet C/2017 S3 (PanSTARRS) passed around it, and in the spring of 2019, comet C/2018 R3 (Lemmon) also passed, so the Little Lion, along with the nearby but not very prominent open cluster Tombaugh 5, served as an easy reference point.
