A diminished copy of the nearby Scorpius constellation lies at the end of Hydra's tail, on the border with Libra. It is formed by the stars 4 Lib and 54 to 60 Hya, each having around 5 magnitude, along with a few fainter ones. The star 54 Hya is an analogue of Antares, and Shaula has a counterpart in the form of 59 Hya.
VIC: A truly large Small Scorpion. To see it all at once, a binocular with a field of view of at least 7 degrees is needed. Unlike the real Scorpius, we can see it entirely from our latitudes, although still quite low. Its claws are not very prominent, but it helps in locating the nearby globular cluster NGC 5694.
