Royal Frost discovered IC 5110 = F. 1219 on a plate taken on 19 Sep 1903 at Harvard's Arequipa station using the Bruce 24" photographic refractor.

600/800mm - 30" (10/14/15 - OzSky): at 394x; moderately bright, fairly small, 45" diameter, contains a bright elongated core that appears to be a bar, stellar nucleus. NGC 7059 lies 25' W.
