DeLisle Stewart discovered IC 4333 = D.S. 382 on a plate taken 13 Jun 1901 at Harvard's Arequipa Station. He noted "eF, vS, eeE at 40°, pos. approximate, susp."

600/800mm - 25" (10/15/17 - OzSky): at 244x and 397x; fairly faint, moderately large, very elongated 5:1 (SW-NE), ~1.25'x0.25', brighter bulging core, tapers at the tips. Located 20' NW of mag 6.8 HD 122470. In a fairly rich star field.
