Orion's S

< A prominent chain of more than 15 stars with magnitudes ranging from 5th to 8th forms the shape of a large "S," extending between the stars Alnilam and Mintaka in Orion's Belt. It may also depict Orion's curved dagger, tucked behind his belt.

VIC: A nice target for small telescopes. The letter "S" is easily recognizable despite the abundance of other stars in the Collinder 70 star cluster. Mintaka could form the starting point, and Alnilam the endpoint of the long serpent.
