Located just under one degree away from the star Schedar (α Cas), a sprawling cluster of stars resembles the crucified Jesus Christ, about 4 degrees to the south. It consists of nine stars brighter than magnitude 9 and many fainter ones. The brightest, representing the head of the crucified figure, has a magnitude of 6.7.

VIC: I discovered it on October 3, 2010, when the comet Hartley 2 was passing through Cassiopeia. On that day, the seeing conditions at our observation site in Horní Řasnice were so poor that even 32× magnification couldn't be used, so small binoculars came into play. In the smallest one (Nikon SE 12×50), Jesus captivated me at first sight. Larger instruments didn't bring as much effect. I'm surprised that no one noticed it until now.
