Ø 3.9' / 48''

600/800mm - 24" (7/19/12): moderately bright, fairly large, very elongated 9:2 WSW-ENE, 2.2'x0.5', broad concentration with a large slightly brighter core. With averted vision, the eastern wing has a very faint extension slightly angled to the major axis of the galaxy. On the DSS this feature appears to describe the brightest portion of a spiral arm that is attached on the ENE end. This arm wraps sharply backwards due west on the north side so is angled slightly to the main body of the galaxy. Located 2.3' SE of mag 8.7 SAO 45542. Member of the NGC 5929/5930 group (LGG 399).
