600/800mm - 24" (12/22/14): faint, fairly small, elongated 3:2 N-S, 24"x18" (central bar). An extremely low surface brightness halo was visible with averted vision extending WSW-ENE and increasing size to 0.6'x0.4'. A mag 11 star [4"-5" pair] is 2' W and a mag 12 star is 1.6' SE, with the galaxy nearly at the midpoint.
