John Herschel discovered NGC 7652 = h3990, along with NGC 7650, on 28 Oct 1834 and recorded "eF; S; R: the following and fainter of 2 [with NGC 7650]." His position is accurate.

600/800mm - 30" (10/15/15 - OzSky): at 303x; moderately bright, fairly small, round, 30" diameter, gradually increases to the center. A mag 11.5 star is 2' WNW. Southernmost member of the KTS 73 triplet with NGC 7650 6.2' NNW and NGC 7657 10.5' NE.
