Heinrich d'Arrest discovered NGC 759 on 17 Sep 1865 with the 11-inch refractor at Copenhagen. His single position matches UGC 1440 = PGC 7397.
300/350mm - 13.1" (8/8/86): fairly faint, small, round, small bright core, faint elongated halo.
400/500mm - 17.5" (11/14/87): moderately bright, small, round, bright core. Member of AGC 262 with UGC 1434 6' SW.
