Édouard Stephan discovered NGC 7356 = St XIII-94 on 4 Oct 1883 and recorded "eeF; pS; R; weak gradual concentration; *13 attached to southeast." His micrometric position is very accurate.
400/500mm - 17.5" (9/2/89): very faint, small, very elongated WSW-ENE. A mag 14 star is at the edge 32" SSE from center.
