John Herschel discovered NGC 7262 = h3937 on 27 Sep 1834 and recorded "eF; S; R; lbM." His position is fairly accurate.
400/500mm - 17.5" (7/20/96): very faint, small, roundish, 35" diameter, low even surface brightness. Forms a near equilateral triangle with two mag 13 stars ~4' NE and 4' SE.
