John Herschel discovered NGC 7216 = h3925 on 29 Jun 1835 and recorded "pF; R; gbM; 25"." His position is good.
600/800mm - 30" (10/12/15 - OzSky): at 394x; fairly bright, sharply concentrated with a very bright core, the halo is extended 3:2 NW-SE, ~40"x25". Mag 8.8 HD 210473 lies 4.8' SE and a distinctive 1.3' string of three mag 10-12.5 stars is 6' WSW.
