Albert Marth discovered NGC 6615 = m 375 on 9 Jul 1863 and noted "vF, vS." His position is 1.8' too far south.
400/500mm - 17.5" (7/1/89): faint, very small, round, small bright core, stellar nucleus, in a rich star field.
600/800mm - 24" (8/29/19): at 375x;, fairly bright, moderately large, slightly elongated N-S, sharply concentrated with an intense core, much fainter 50"x40" halo. Situated in a rich star field 17' N of mag 6.8 HD 168271. ROE 111 = 10.5/11.2 pair at 3" separation lies 6' E.
