Albert Marth discovered NGC 6102 = m 308 on 24 Jun 1864 and noted "vF, S, R." His position is accurate.
400/500mm - 17.5" (6/24/95): very faint, small, round, low even surface brightness. A mag 12 star lies 3.1' NNE of center.
