Albert Marth discovered NGC 6007 = m 295, along with NGC 6006 and 6009, on 2 Jun 1864 and noted "F, pL." His position is accurate.
400/500mm - 17.5" (5/13/88): faint, fairly small, oval NW-SE, weak concentration. Brightest of three with NGC 6008 5.8' WNW and NGC 6009 6' N.
