400/500mm - 17.5" (5/19/01): this face-on barred spiral appears moderately bright and large, round, 1.8' diameter. Contains a sharp, bright 30" core. A nice trio of mag 12-13 stars forming an equilateral triangle lies 4' WSW. Located 10' following a mag 9.9 star.
