Guillaume Bigourdan discovered IC 4210 = Big. 410 on 23 Apr 1897. He noted it was diffuse, 30" diameter, weak concentration.
600/800mm - 24" (5/20/17): at 375x; very faint to faint, small, elongated ~4:3 N-S, ~24"x18", low surface brightness, very weak nucleus. A mag 15.2 star is 0.8' SSE. Situated 5.3' NW of NGC 5004 and faintest in a trio with NGC 5004A.
