400/500mm - 16" LX200 (4/14/07): faint, fairly small, slightly elongated ~E-W, 0.6'x0.45', low even surface brightness. Located 4.6' WSW of mag 6.8 HD 114093. This bright star forms the vertex of a right triangle with NGC 4979 and a mag 10 star 3.6' to its SE. Situated about 4° SE of the core of Abell 1656.
600/800mm - 24" (5/20/17): at 375x; fairly faint, fairly small, slightly elongated ~E-W, 0.5'x0.4'. Contains a sharp, nearly stellar nucleus. Located only 4.6' WSW of distractingly bright mag 6.8 HD 114093. Best view with star kept outside the field. IC 4202, an extreme edge-on, lies 13' SE.
