William Herschel discovered NGC 4213 = H II-354 = h1145 on 10 Apr 1785 (sweep 394) and noted "F, vS." His position matches UGC 7276.

400/500mm - 17.5" (4/17/88): faint, fairly small, round, gradually brighter halo, small bright core. Located 9.9' WNW of 7 Comae Berenices (V = 4.9) which detracts from viewing.
