200/250mm - 8" (5/21/82): very faint, small, spindle-shape.
300/350mm - 13.1" (2/23/85): moderately bright, edge-on spindle 4:1 N-S. NGC 3981 lies 35' SE. Both galaxies are members of the NGC 4038/39 group (Antennae).
