Heinrich d'Arrest discovered NGC 3558 on 15 Apr 1866 and viewed at 123x, 148x and 226x. His declination was 1.3' too large.
300/350mm - 13.1" (3/24/84): this is the second brightest galaxy in the rich cluster AGC 1185. Faint, very small, round. There is a string of four faint stars preceding.
