John Herschel discovered NGC 3469 = h3306 on 7 May 1836 and simply noted "eeF; S." His position matches MCG -02-28-024 = PGC 32912.
400/500mm - 18" (3/13/04): faint, fairly small, round, 0.8' diameter, weak concentratin with a very small slightly brighter core. Located 6' SSE of a mag 9 star.
