John Herschel discovered NGC 3262 = h3260 on 2 Feb 1835 (along with NGC 3263) and recorded "eF; S; R." His position is 2.4' too far south.

300/350mm - 13.1" (2/18/04 - Costa Rica): faint, small, slightly elongated WNW-ENE, 30"x25", low even surface brightness. Forms a pair with brighter NGC 3263 2.6' NNE in a group (Klemola 12).
