Guillaume Bigourdan discovered NGC 3150 = Big. 40, along with NGCs 3151, 3159 and 3161, on 1 Feb 1886 in the NGC 3158 group. His position matches CGCG 211-019.
400/500mm - 17.5" (3/23/85): faint, small, slightly lower surface brightness than NGC 3151 2.3' S. A mag 12 star is 2.0' WSW and a mag 14 star is 1.8' NNW. Located within the NGC 3158 group.
