Albert Marth discovered NGC 3062 = m 187 with Lassell's 48" and noted "vF, vS, alm stellar." His position matches Marth's position matches PGC 28699.

400/500mm - 17.5" (4/15/99): very faint, very small, round, 20" diameter. Weak concentration to a slightly brighter core and occasional stellar nucleus. Not noticed at 100x but easy at 220x. Based on description, I probably viewed the brighter core only and missed the fainter extensions. Located 45' ESE of NGC 3044.
