Édouard Stephan discovered NGC 2850 = St XII-36 on 22 Mar 1882. His position matches PGC 26452.

400/500mm - 17.5" (2/1/03): faint, small, slightly elongated, 20" diameter, nearly even surface brightness with a well-defined halo.
