?douard Stephan discovered NGC 1615 = St IX-3 on 5 Jan 1878 with the 31" reflector at the Marseille Observatory. His position is accurate. MCG does not label +03-12-005 as NGC 1615.

400/500mm - 17.5" (1/23/93): faint, very small, round, very small bright core, stellar nucleus. Forms the east vertex of an equilateral triangle with mag 7.1 SAO 94022 6' SW and mag 8.0 SAO 94021 5' NW!
