?douard Stephan discovered NGC 1159 = St XIII-21 on 2 Dec 1883 with the 31" reflector at Marseille Observatory. His position is accurate.

400/500mm - 17.5" (10/24/87): faint, very small, round, weak concentration. Located 6.8' ENE of mag 7.6 SAO 38497.
