?douard Stephan discovered NGC 1093 = St X-14 on 6 Dec 1879 with the 31" reflector at Marseilles Observatory. His position is accurate.
400/500mm - 17.5" (12/23/92): faint, fairly small, slightly elongated 4:3 WNW-ESE, fairly low almost even surface brightness. Located 4.3' SSE of a mag 9.5 star.
