Truman Safford discovered IC 69 = Sf 66 on 8 Nov 1866 with the 18.5" refractor at the Dearborn Observatory and recorded "F, iF, lbM."
400/500mm - 17.5" (10/5/02): faint, fairly small, slightly elongated, 0.8'x0.6', low even surface brightness. Located 4' SW of mag 8.4 SAO 54358. IC 66 lies 18' SW. Member of the Pisces-Perseus Supercluster.
