Stephane Javelle discovered IC 600 = J. 2-671 on 3 May 1893. His micrometric position is accurate.

400/500mm - 17.5" (3/25/95): faint, moderately large, 1.5' diameter, irregularly round, broad concentration, low surface brightness. Forms the vertex of an obtuse isosceles triangle with a nice double star 5' N (mag 11/12 at 18" separation) and a mag 9 star (SAO 118106) 5.6' SE.
