Stephane Javelle discovered IC 5372 = J. 3-1463, along with IC 5369, 5370, 5371 and 5373, on 9 Nov 1899. He noted "faint, round, 15", mag 14 nucleus." PGC doesn't identify PGC 2801010 as IC 5372.

400/500mm - 17.5" (10/4/97): extremely faint and small (required averted vision), round, 15" diameter, no concentration. Located 40" NW of a mag 12.5 star which is 2' due west of IC 5373 in the IC 5370 group.
