DeLisle Stewart discovered IC 5324 = DS 783, along with IC 5323, on a plate taken on 29 Aug 1900 at Harvard's Arequipa station in Peru. He noted "F, S, bM."
600/800mm - 30" (10/15/15 - OzSky): at 303x; moderately bright to fairly bright, fairly small, round, 30" diameter, sharply concentrated with a very small bright nucleus. A mag 12.5 star is 2.1' E and a similar star is 3' SSE. In a quartet with brighter IC 5323 3.9' W, IC 5320 3.7' N and IC 5322 3.8' NNE.
