Stephane Javelle discovered IC 5297 = J. 3-1441 on 22 Nov 1899 and measured an accurate micrometric position.
400/500mm - 17.5" (9/23/89): very faint, very small, round, weak concentration. Picked up 7' NE of mag 8.5 SAO 091128 while starhopping to NGC 7548 to the NW.
