DeLisle Stewart discovered IC 4832 = DS 569 on a plate taken at Harvard's Arequipa station on 16 Sep 1901 and reported "vF, vS, eE at 145°, stell N."

600/800mm - 30" (10/12/15 - OzSky): fairly bright, fairly large, edge-on 5:1 or 6:1 NW-SE, 1.8'x0.3', contains a bright elongated core. A mag 14.5 star is at the northwest end. Located 3.9' S of mag 9.2 HD 179038 and 3' NE of a mag 10.3 star. NGC 6758 lies 18' N.
