Stephane Javelle discovered IC 4570 = J. 3-1379 on 24 Jul 1895. His position corresponds with UGC 9975 in a group of 8 IC galaxies.

400/500mm - 17.5" (7/3/97): extremely faint, fairly small, ~45" diameter with averted vision, very low surface brightness with no concentration. This is one of the larger members of the faint IC 4568-81 group.
