Stephane Javelle discovered IC 4234 = J. 3-1244 on 11 Jun 1895 with the 30-inch refractor at the Nice Observatory.
400/500mm - 18" (6/21/03): faint, very small, irregular round, 15" diameter. Brightens somewhat to a faint stellar nucleus at 323x. Located 8' N of NGC 5116 and 11' ESE of mag 9.2 SAO 82802.
