Stephane Javelle discovered IC 4213 = J. 3-1237 on 15 Jun 1903. His computed RA is 10 seconds too large.

600/800mm - 24" (5/20/17): at 375x; fairly faint, fairly large, thin ghostly edge-on, ~1.8'x0.35', very low surface brightness. No noticeable bulge or core, though the central region is slightly brighter than the extensions. Located 57' SSW of NGC 5033 and a member of the NGC 5033 Group (LGG 334) at a distance of 40 to 60 million l.y.
