Hermann Kobold discovered IC 4030 = K. 2-27 on 11 May 1896 with the 18-inch refractor at Strasbourg and recorded "eF, vS, R, * 15 inv."
400/500mm - 18" (4/20/12): extremely faint and small, round, 8"-10" diameter, requires averted. Located 4.6' ESE of NGC 4889 and 2.2' E of NGC 4898 in the core of AGC 1656. This is one of the fainter Coma cluster members I picked up this evening (B = 16.4).
