Stephane Javelle discovered IC 33 = J. 1-24, along with IC 29, 30 and 32, on 6 Nov 1891. His position is accurate.
600/800mm - 24" (9/23/17): at 375x; similar or slightly fainter than IC 32, just 0.9' W. Appeared extremely to very faint, round, 12" diameter, no structure. Last in a quartet with IC 29, 30 and 32.
