Lewis Swift discovered IC 265 = Sw. VIII-6 on 3 Nov 1888 and recorded "eeF; eS; R; [NGC] 1129 near." His position is fairly accurate.

400/500mm - 18" (11/18/06): faint, small, round, 20" diameter. Located 5.5' NE of NGC 1129 in the cluster AWM 7 and 4.5' NW of a mag 9.7 star in a cluster. PGC 10962 lies 3' W. Appears brighter than the CGCG magnitude of 15.7pg.
