Stephane Javelle discovered IC 2497 = J. 3-1118 on 14 May 1903. HyperLeda doesn't identify PGC 165538 as IC 2497.

900/1200mm - 48" (4/1/11): fairly faint, fairly small, slightly elongated WNW-ESE, 0.4'x0.3', brighter core. This galaxy is located just 20" N of Hanny's Voorwerp! 2MASX 094106.75+3443565 lies 33" E.
