Delisle Stewart discovered IC 1913 = D.S. 178 in 1899 on a plate taken at Harvard's Arequipa station.
600/800mm - 24" (11/23/19): at 260x; extremely faint, moderately large, thin ghostly streak NW-SE, ~60"x10". Only glimpsed with effort but repeatable in the same position and orientation. Collinear with mag 14.8 5' NW and mag 11.7 7' NW. IC 1913 is an outlying member of the Fornax I cluster, ~5° NW of the center of the cluster.
