Stephane Javelle discovered IC 1809 = J. 3-930, along with IC 1807, on 16 Jan 1896.
600/800mm - 24" (11/21/19): at 375x; fairly faint, fairly small, elongated 3:2 NW-SE, 30"x20". A faint star is superimposed at the NE tip [12" from center]. IC 1807 lies 16' WNW.
