Stephane Javelle discovered IC 1566 = J. 3-821 on 24 Nov 1897. His position is accurate.
400/500mm - 17.5" (9/5/99): second of three in AGC 76. Very faint, small, round, 30" diameter. Appears similar to IC 1565 but slightly lower surface brightness. Located 3.0' NE of a mag 11.5 star and 5.2' NE of IC 1565. IC 1568 lies 6.0' NE.
