600/800mm - 24" (12/1/13): moderately to fairly bright, small, round, 20", high surface brightness. Gradually increases towards the center, then a sharp stellar nucleus. A mag 14.5 star is at the southwest edge. Brightest in a small trio with IC 1698 1.6' SSW and UGC 978 2.8' WNW. IC 1704 lies 26' ESE.
